Sabkhat Sijoumi

As part of its commitment to sustainable development and environmental protection, the Abdelwaheb Ben Ayed Foundation (FABA) works in Sabkhat Sijoumi through two complementary projects that embody its vision: preserving today, educating for tomorrow.

Reforestation Project 2021-2022

To combat deforestation and the gradual loss of green spaces, FABA has partnered with the Tunis Regional Forestry Directorate to finance the planting of 10 hectares of native trees. This project not only helps restore a fragile ecosystem, but also strengthens the region's biodiversity and environmental resilience.

Observatory Project

Continuing its work, FABA launched the Sabkhat Sijoumi Observatory project, designed to bring younger generations closer to their natural heritage. The initiative aims to improve the attractiveness of forest areas by developing observation and awareness-raising areas. Students and young visitors will thus be able to discover, understand, and appreciate nature, in turn becoming ambassadors for environmental protection.

Through these projects, FABA affirms a deep conviction: sustainability is rooted in concrete action and in the education of future generations. Protecting nature and making it accessible to all is investing in a more balanced future, where the environment is both a resource to be preserved and a school open to all.
